Many of my happiest days climbing are spent soaring above the seas, as the diamonds of sunlight dance over the waves. Holy Island, just off Anglesey is home to my favourite collection of these cliffs, named Gogarth. This is my desert Island cliff, with a life times worth of adventures to be had. The fantastically funky quartzite rock, out of this world exposure and seaside environment make for special experiences. “A Dream of White Horses”, is one of the most famous routes here and should be on every climber’s tick-list, but that’s just the beginning.
Rhoscolyn on nearby Anglesey can offer a slightly friendlier location on which to learn the ropes.
